BREAKING NEWS: cryptos, lags and Regnum!

Aloha all,

We have breaking news, recently obtained from famous anonymous hacker Vi+. After making a crazy hard and dirty digging with using WireShark and ngrep system tools on analyzing the network traffic between running Champions of Regnum game and NGD Studios servers he found a lot of TCP/IP packets, which are moving to mining pools, responsible for mining of Litecoin and DOGE crypto coins! It means when we play RO game at the same time your running program is mining cryptocurrency for NGD! Probably they use these coins for releasing next versions of this amazing game! And, this is the obvious reason of all our lags and low FPS and ping during playing Champions of Regnum! Bingo!

Please repost such breaking news to your friends and other players - everyone must know this!
Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Regnum

UPDATED (2014/04/02): of course, my friends, it was our traditional April Fools' Day joke! We really hope that everybody, including NGD (by the way thank you gamemod for fast react on my post on NGD's forum by deleting the thread, woo-hoo: so, right, no jokes - no fun! :-P ), had a fun during the whole that great day! ;-)

Deleted thread on NGD forum: no jokes - no fun!
P. S. Also, have fun to check traditional Google April Fools' Day 2014 too.

The proposal for the Knights, which they can not refuse from!

And, I'll bind codpiece 3 sizes smaller than usual for you.

from the epic tales of legends
Regnum Online MMO game,
scene of threat to the knight.

by L'Ermite, 52 level marksman,
with humble assistance by Titanium Axle, 59 level knight,
exclusively and specially for “Funny Moments” series.

As constantly leveling up and absolutely even not hopeless marksman, I would like to declare a note of protest and to pay a special attention of all, who plays great Regnum Online MMO game, and especially knights, on one annoying defect in ammunition of the knight, which exists at the present time. I think, all knights will support me, will be ready to try IT (at least once for sure! ;-) ), and with pleasure will carry IT and use in bloody fights. :-) Yes, I'am about codpieces, which by the way will be very useful especially during the winter military period.

The codpiece history began back in the 14th century when there was no still a tailoring habitual to us began and tailor's art only developed. Men's trousers were two separate leg cut, which only goes to the back of the buttocks and fastened to the belt strings. All the "shame" was covered by a long coat. But when jackets started to be shortened, it was necessary to find in addition a triangle or a rectangle from a fabric which would cover man's genitals.

Yes, and relieve themselves so it was more convenient - not have to untie his pants entirely. This scrap of a fabric also was called a codpiece. Man's advantage it appeared on a look — through a fabric all cambers were well visible. And fans to boast right there it used! Men started to enclose sawdust, hay in a codpiece and it is simple that will be visually to increase the size of contents of a codpiece. And when the fashion and trousers was replaced started to do by more free, the codpiece became already a decorative element of a suit which is completely repeating in a form its contents. It sewed from expensive fabrics, decorated with an embroidery, tapes and jewels, very much trying to pay female attention where it is necessary. Even the special resolution which forbade to wear short jackets, couldn't prevent it — on floors of jackets in front did a cut for a codpiece.

But codpiece was relevant not only for secular dandies. Knights in heavy armor was no less acute problem of quick administration of natural human necessities (and, to protect the important parts of the body from enemy swords and arrows, too, would not hurt). Therefore, they began to make metal codpiece, which were fastened with straps to the main armor. Even the harsh field conditions did not cool the male desire to flaunt their dignity: English king, Edward III, ordered to make to his battle armor codpiece very impressive size, as he thought it would help his military successes.

Pict 1. real knight codpiece XV century
The codpiece left the use only in the 16th century when the fashion direction finally changed. And, an armor too underwent essential changes. Or, perhaps that the codpiece got out of fashion, female sneers are guilty. Men took great pain to increase the size of a codpiece. Sometimes its sizes exceeded one and a half elbow. The sizes of a codpiece allowed to carry in it a purse and small values (that all the most valuable was in one place). Women who were flattered on an impressive codpiece were waited, certainly, by disappointment - the most part of a codpiece occupied there is a purse (probably female assessment of appeal of the gentleman on the size of a purse also goes back to times when the free space of a codpiece was filled with money). The disappointed ladies took great pain to deride owners of codpieces that supposedly the codpiece at them and huge and is filled it with deception and lie. Once in shop of one manufacturer of codpieces in Modena which was famous just for that did codpieces in size in an elbow, the angry women broke and crushed it to put an end to deception. Probably, push-up the brassieres which are visually increasing a female breast, is a revenge in centuries to men for "exaggerated" codpieces. :)

Pic 2. The codpiece of King Henry VIII’s ceremonial armor
After a short excursion into history let's get back to our Regnum Online. And here it is necessary to offer to designers and developers of this great game to keep historical accuracy, and ... yeah, to add a codpiece into RO armor. We have confirmation about existence of 18 years at an entrance in the game, right? ;-) Plus, additional trade will simply blossom - also the benefit for Regnum Online merchants. It's a crystal clear vodka and for everyone clear, that it is necessary to follow the trivial rule: the size of a codpiece should correspond to the level of the player! War Master can be visible from the far distance and will terrify enemies from afar. Besides, it can become an energetic stimulator for fast leveling up, and will initiate less lazy during boring grinding time, i. e. indirect help to NGD Studios.

Pict 3. One of possible look like in Regnum Online (draft)
For Syrtis, where, as a rule, the favorable weather conditions, the codpiece could be purely decorative to please the eye of beautiful Syrtis war ladies.
And, warm codpieces from Yeti or Trolls wool are prompted for players of snow Alsius land.
For Ignis players, who are living in the hot desert, the fashionable codpieces from a snakeskin of marsh spectral snakes, and also cooling codpieces from cold-blood beetles, are offered.

For especially rich players it is offered the beautiful codpieces with precious draconic gems for usage.

Naturally, iron codpieces - to all knights (Titanium Axle, the leader of Syrtis War Stalkers clan, humbly asks NGD Studios for personal titanium codpiece for himself, please!). For barbarians it is possible to offer leather codpieces from Wolf skin.

New codpiece skills for WM barbarians, who has codpiece, from +50 blunt damage, and additional influence of dizzy only on female enemies characters would be also quite good to do.

For Ximerins you can buy additional tattoo with name of your character on your codpiece (as an additional epic suggestion to implement: tattoo with sweetheart name on codpiece on Valentine Day event for Ximerins too).

There is an interesting idea for female characters: for currently exist armored plate pants to add the fighting brassiere, for which can be successfully adapted two knights helmets.

So, we hope that everything who read this post, had fun, and, additional inspiration to new ideas in the heads and feats on the fields on Regnum Online game! :-P
And, from NGD Studios we expect the proposed innovations and new versions of this great online game! ;-)

SWS IRL: Bence from Hungary

Hi Clannies, I’m Bence Erős, a 22 years old software developer and university student and study Software Engineering BSc. I live in Debrecen, the 2nd biggest city of Hungary, about 200.000 people live here - it's close to the eastern border of the country. In Regnum Online my primary character is crystalx, a lvl 49 warlock, and I also have a lvl 26 barbarian called hard reset, and a lvl 22 marksman (nega). I started playing Regnum Online around the middle of July.
Picture 1: hard reset and crystalx
To be honest, I’m not a gamer. I haven’t played any games in the recent years. Before that - long ago in the middle of my teen ages, I played mainly strategy games: Age of Empires, Heroes 3, Warcraft 3, Rise of Nations, Settlers and sometimes Starcraft. All were boring after sometimes, since I could only play in single player, we didn’t have internet connection at home that time (I just can’t imagine how I survived my first 16 years. :D )

But this summer after my exams I downloaded RO and I gave it a go. Aaand... I became addicted to it in a few days. So I spent most of my summer with playing RO; crystalx is now lvl 49, but sadly I’m a bit bored of grinding that guy, so in the recent days I have mainly played my barb, hard reset, and I log in with my lock only if there is some invasion.

When I don’t sit near my computer, I live the everyday life of university students. I’m with my beautiful girlfriend who I have gone out with for more than one years now, or I’m with my friends in a tavern or on a rock festival, or I’m watching a movie, whatever. In my teen ages I had read a lot of books too, but sadly I gave that up. I read mainly sci-fi novels, my favourite writers are Philip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut and George Orwell. I also liked fantasy novels, eg. Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter (one of the reasons why I fell in love with Regnum is how similar its world is to LOTR. :) So that’s all about books, nowadays I read IT stuff when I have some time to do that, currently Refactoring by Martin Fowler. By the way, I’m not a read-only guy, I started a blog in English last winter, it is my "just another blog about software engineering" blog. You can find some more or less interesting programming-related articles here.

Picture 3: At a university bale
Picture 4: Factory festival at Miskolc
Picture 5: A more or less cultivated garden party with friends
Picture 6: Cutting the melon - when everybody knows better how to do that :)
Picture 7: Late-night coding fun :)
Picture 8: So.. question?
Picture 9: A long-haired Bence
During the university years I worked as a software engineer for several companies, but after all I have became fed up with them, so currently I try to get by as a freelancer. When I say "software engineer" I mean "programmer", but the latter one is a damn ugly word in my opinion, therefore I more prefer using the first one :) So, primarily I write smaller business applications, mainly in PHP, JavaScript (with jQuery) and I prefer using PostgreSQL as a database. If I don’t write such applications, I develop my PHP framework, which I will release as public, free software some time in this year (hopefully). When I become fed up with PHP, I sometimes play a bit with Java, Scala or C, but I’m not really professional in those technologies/languages. I’m a really open-source guy, I rarely work with any proprietary stuff. I use mainly Ubuntu Linux with Fluxbox on my desktop, and sometimes I try out Slackware or Slack-based Linux distributions too. As I mentioned above, I’m a university student too, but now I only have a very few subjects, studying is not a really important part of my life. To be honest, I should have finished the BSc 2 years ago - I’m very lazy with math subjects. :)
Picture 10:  Finally, a screenshot about my nerd desktop
That's all guys, have fun, enjoy my pictures, and defend me when I’m under a dizzy cast. ;D
